Kids

Welcome
This section of the website is all about children taking part in the varied activities that are described as climbing, walking, mountaineering and ski-mountaineering. We fully support the Scottish Government's Active Nation initiative and wish to help children who want to get active outdoors (or indoors!). The pages in the menu on the left give some indication of the scope of the MCofS's work with children as well as information about the different activites.

Kids and Parents will find the information useful as follows:

Kids: Hill Walking Climbing and Mountaineering
Are you just starting out? Do you go walking but fancy trying something a bit more adventurous? Do you want to try climbing and mountaineering? Are you a non-climbing parent and want to know what it’s all about? Here is the MCofS Guide to everything you need to know.

Kids: Indoor Events
The MCofS supports various indoor climbing events across Scotland at indoor climbing centres. Keep up to date with what's going on by visiting this page

Kids: Outdoor Climbing
Are you climbing at indoor climbing walls and want to try the real thing on the crags? Check out the REALrock sessions run by the MCofS and others.

Kids: Features and Articles
Here we feature articles written by children who are members of the MCofS. They are constantly added to, so find out what Scottish kids are getting up to!
