Climbing Competitions at Schools in Scotland
The growing number of new climbing walls being built in schools now allows a number of new competitions to be developed either at the schools themselves or based at major climbing centres in certain areas of Scotland:
The Scottish High Schools Climbing Competition
This annual competition open to any school in Scotland, is expanding every year. Individuals from schools climb qualifier routes at a nearby big wall and those highest scoring children are invited to a Grand Final to compete on behalf of their school.

MCofS Schools Climbing Development
The MCofS Strategic Plan includes the aim of developing increased access for children to climbing at school. We are encouraging and supporting the development of suitable climbing walls at both primary schools and high schools throughout Scotland with the aim to have a network of walls for schools competitions, both on a regional and national basis. You can find out which schools have climbing walls here.
