About Us
The Pages in this section of our website provide information about MCofS, our aims, and how we are organised. Our Strategic Plan guides all our activities, and our staff work to achieve annual Operational Plan objectives which contribute to our strategic aims of representing, supporting and promoting Scottish Mountaineering.
Founded in 1970 by the Association of Scottish Climbing Clubs, MCofS (The Mountaineering Council of Scotland) is the only recognised representative organisation for hill walkers, climbers and ski-tourers who live in Scotland or who enjoy Scotland’s mountains.
