Any company, organisation, club, association or business wishing to support the MCofS, but not being eligible to do so as a Club Member. may apply for Associate Membership.  In return we offer Associates a range of benefits.

Why Join the Mountaineering Council of Scotland as an Associate Member?

With over 10,000 members, including those particpating in 130 hill walking and climbing clubs, the MCofS is Scotland’s only national organisation “Working for Scotland’s Mountains and Mountaineers”.

  • The Scottish Mountaineer - Discounted Advertising Rates
    The Scottish Mountaineer is Scotland’s leading, full-colour, 100-page mountaineering quarterly with a circulation of 11,500 copies and an estimated readership of 70,000. Associate Members qualify for a 10% discount off the publisher’s rate card and receive a complementary copy of the magazine each quarter – in itself worth £14 a year.   • Discounted Individual Membership of the MCofS - with Full Benefits
    You and your team can enjoy full individual membership at the Concessionary Member rate, currently £15.85 compared with the usual rate for full Individual Membership of £27.30. You will still get full access to Civil Liability Insurance which provides cover for your non-professional mountain walking or climbing-related activities.
