The MCofS and BMC share responsibility for two huts in Scotland.
These are the Alex MacIntyre Memorial Hut (AMMH) at Onich, near Glen Coe and the Glen Brittle Memorial Hut (GBMH) near the Cuillin on Skye. A third hut, Mill Cottage near Feshiebridge in the Cairngorms, is owned by an independent trust set up by the MCofS.
These huts are available for the use of Mountaineering Council of Scotland and British Mountaineering Council affiliated clubs, and individual members.
Trustees of the AMMH and GBMH include ex officio elected office bearers of the MCofS and BMC. The huts are managed by separate management committees which report to the two councils. Their annual reports are lodged with MCofS. Two elected MCofS office bearers are ex officio members of the the Mill Cottage Trust. The trust uses surplus income to support mountain safety education.
