MCofS Huts Seminar
The sixth MCofS huts seminar will be held in Braco on Saturday 3 November 2007. The seminar provides a forum for discussing legal and other issues that affect hut management. The general theme of this year's seminar is 'Hut architecture' and the main presentation by an architect will review the process involved in planning both for a new hut and also carrying out a building project on an existing hut. Although the event is specifically aimed at hut managers any club planning to establish a new hut or anyone with a genuine interest in hut management may attend. Inver Croft House renovations completed
The Jacobites Mountaineering Club has recently completed phase two (electric lighting, UV water purification) of a long overdue facelift of Inver Croft House, its hut near Achnasheen. After recent renovation it’s the perfect base for club meets in the northwest of Scotland with easy access to Munros and Corbetts, and great rock and ice climbing. Where could be better?
The spacious new kitchen now boasts ten gas rings and a catering sized oven and grill, so no queuing for a gas ring after a hard day on the hill! The snug, panelled lounge has a rebuilt open coal / log fire that now draws like a dream, belching heat but not smoke into the room, warming the whole hut.

Alex MacIntyre Memorial Hut
The MCofS huts directory indicates that the AMMH is available to MCofS and BMC clubs for group and individual bookings, and also to individual members of the two councils.
The AMMH committee of management has asked us to emphasise that the hut is available on a casual basis to members who are passing by, subject to places being available. Members must sign in and pay by using the envelopes and safe provided and provide proof of identity (membership card) to the resident warden. For further details contact the custodian, Arthur Howarth: e-mail aghowarth@blueyonder.co.uk.
The hut is also somewhat underused outwith the winter months and the committee wishes to encourage clubs and individual members to make more use of it.
Availability of places in the hut can now be checked online. See the hut details page.
