The Mountaineering Council of Scotland is Scotland’s only national representative organisation which is “Working for Scotland’s Mountains and Mountaineers”

Members’ subscriptions directly contribute to our work and qualify for an extensive range of benefits.

We offer three categories of membership:

  • Individual Membership
    Join NOW and receive FREE your choice of either the new British Mountain Map of Ben Nevis & Glen Coe or of Cairngorms & Lochnagar worth £12.95.  Get 15 months for the price of 12 months when you pay by Direct Debit.*

    Eligibility - anyone with an interest in Scotland’s mountains, no matter where you live. Lower cost subscription rates apply for families, under – 18’s and concessions.   • Club Membership
    Eligibility – clubs with more than ten members engaged in mountaineering activities with a constitution acceptable to the MCofS. Members of clubs affiliated to the MCofS enjoy the full benefits of membership. Refer to the application form for current membership rates.   • Associate Membership
    For organisations and businesses which wish to support the aims of the MCofS and receive a range of attractive benefits in return, including lower cost individual membership for staff and team members, and discounts on advertising in The Scottish Mountaineer magazine.
