General news in mountaineering and walking from across the world are considered: grant giving bodies, forthcoming festivals (film fests and walking fests; calendars, information and reports), events, press releases, significant world news, gear information etc

Reader Offers
The Scottish Mountaineer currently does not undertake gear reviews. However, we have a regular 2 page slot for manufacturers and publishers to highlight new products through reader offers.

Book & DVD Reviews
The MCofS has a considerable library at its HQ in Perth, available for reference. We arrange reviews by members of new books, DVD’s, maps (any printed material!) which is relevant to our readers. We ask for 2 copies to be sent to MCofS if possible, one is retained by the reviewer, the other is lodged in the MCofS library.

Bivi Talk
Members (and non-member readers) have their say on any issue. Please send letters by email if possible.
