MCofS Mountaineering Events

‘The Why’ and ‘The How’

On a REALrock session by Kevin HowettThe MCofS organises a range of informal events for members and guests. These include competitions, REAlrock sessions, coaching sessions, international meets and club exchanges. They include both adults and children and all the disciplines in mountaineering, mountain walking and climbing. You can read about them all on these Get Active pages.

The MCofS operates these events in accordance with a ‘Mountaineering Events Protocol’ to ensure good practice. Each event is overseen by an Event Coordinator and Activity Coordinators take responsibility for delivery of the event itself. The Protocol (available below) explains why we operate these events the way we do, and then gives guidance on how they are conducted. The Protocol and its appendices are used as the template for all events and customised as appropriate.

The Development Officer of the MCofS is the Event Coordinator and he can be contacted by Email for more information.
