Vacancies at the MCofS

The MCofS is advertising two job vacancies. We wish to recruit a Landscape Policy Officer (25 hours a week) and an Access Officer (12 hours a week). Closing date 13^th January 2012. sportscotland Avalanche Information Service

The winter season is upon us and the first avalanches of the year have already happened. Indeed, the first avalanche casualty of the year has been claimed, albeit in North Wales, so it is time to check on avalanche conditions before venturing out into the hills. A timely reminder then, to check out the sportscotland Avalanche Information Service whenever you go out. There is a link to the avalanche forecasts from the Weather and Avalanche button on the MCofS home page.

Winter Courses and Safety Lectures

I know this was in last month, but a quick reminder that the MCofS is once again offering a series of Winter Skills and Avalanche Awareness courses, and promoting the ever popular Winter Safety Lectures.

Office Closure over Festive Season

The MCofS office will be closed for the festive break from 15.00 on Friday 24^th December to 09.00 on Wednesday 4^th January. For up-to-date news between these dates follow us @MCofS on Twitter and Facebook.
