Policies and Position Statements
From time to time, the MCofS will develop policies through consultation with its members. These are used to enable the MCofS to formalise its approach to relevant mountaineering issues which affect the membership.
Prior to incorporation in 2007, MCofS developed a range of policies relating to Access and Conservation, Safety and the Sport of Mountaineering. These policies were agreed by the membership at general meetings.
At incorporation, these existing policies were retained, but are now regarded as position statements.
