Perth and Kinross Schools Climbing Competition
with the support of the Mountaineering Council of Scotland
Venue: Perth High School
Held on: Tuesday 7th February 2012
This fun event was open to pupils and staff from schools in the Perth and Kinross area.
The competition involved teams of 10 climbers comprising any combination of age split into 3 age groups…
-
Primary, S1 and S2
-
S3 and S4
-
S5, S6 and school staff
The competition involved 2 top rope routes and 5 boulder problems. All routes were new, set by MCofS approved route setters on the day of the competition. There were 5 schools competing with a total of 38 children and even a teacher! It was a great sucess and a pointer to the future of local school competitions. It is hoped that this event will be the start of a series of competitions run by other schools across the area.
