Twelve MCofS members successfully completed their summer mountain leader training.

This site will be updated early in the new year with details of our 2012 courses.

This six day, 2 modular course will be held on the following dates:

Friday 9th September - Sunday 11th September (3days) and

Friday 30th September - Sunday 2nd October (3 days)

The MCofS in partnership with Richard Bentley from Mountain Motion are offering  club members the opportunity to participate in a Summer Mountain Leader Training Course based from the Loch Lomond Outdoor Centre at a special discounted rate. The cost of the course is £280. The training course is run on a 1:6 ratio and there are a maximum of 12 places available.

This price includes food and accommodation and six days instruction. This SMLTB award is for members who wish to lead hill-walking parties in mountainous terrain in summer conditions. A commitment will need to be shown towards using the training to benefit other club members. A two day overnight camping expedition is part of this course.

Who is eligible to apply?

Club members who are currently involved or keen to become involved in leading members of their club for days out in the hills. Individuals must also register with Mountain Leader Training Scotland and complete a log book prior to booking the course.
