SAFETY & GOOD PRACTICE SEMINAR
The seminar this year will be held over the weekend 15th - 16th November 2008. Details are being sent to all the clubs. Please get your booking forms in as soon as possible.
WINTER SKILLS COURSES - subsidised for students
Courses in January and February 2009 will cover the basic skills of navigation, winter safety, avalanche avoidance, walking with axe and crampons, ice axe self arrest and much more.
January 2009 - £30 (normal price to members £140)
THE JANUARY COURSES ARE AVAILABLE TO ALL MCofS MEMBERS
PLEASE DON'T CONFUSE THESE JANUARY COURSES WITH THE SPECIAL 'STUDENT' COURSE IN FEBRUARY
The MCofS will subsidise up to 12 members of affiliated student clubs on the winter skills weekends at Glenmore Lodge in January 2009. The cost to you is £30 for two nights full board accommodation and two days instruction. The January courses are open to all MCofS members - not just students. There are two weekend courses on 17th - 18th January and 24th - 25th January. If you would like to take part please get in touch with me.
February 2009 - £15 (normal price to members £140)
The MCofS will be sponsoring 60 students on the Student Winter Skills Course on 21st - 22nd February 2009. All student club members are eligible. The cost to you is only £15 for two nights full board accommodation and two days instruction. Details are being sent to all the clubs. Please get your booking forms in as soon as possible.
AVALANCHE AWARENESS COURSES - JANUARY 2009 - £10 (normal price £35)
These one-day courses are based at Glenmore Lodge and cost £35. The MCofS will subsidise up to 6 members of affiliated student clubs. The one-day courses will be held in January 2009 on Sat 10th; Sun 11th; Sat17th. If you would like to attend please get in touch with me.
