Fun Climbing Competitions for Beginners to Experts
For Kids aged 8yrs - 17yrs
This year’s climbing competitions for young people in Scotland are being held at the following venues and on the dates posted below (all Saturday’s).
There has been a few changes to the 2012 series as follows:
- The 2 different regions have been slightly altered geographically, with Avertical World in Dundee now being included in the Scotland North Region. Climbers resident across the north, west and north east of Scotland should attend the North Region Series. Those resident in the central belt and south should attend the South Region Series. Climbers resident in the Perthshire area (in the middle!) should decide which area best suits them.
- The dates of the rounds are different for the North Region and the South Region, but you can only compete in one region - the region you are resident in. Your application form will indicate which region you are competing in. This will be the region you will potentially be a member of as a Scottish Team member.

Age Categories for 2012:
There has been a change this year to adopt the IFSC age categories for the YCS, which means there will now be 5 age categories based on the year that a young person is born and each age category now only covers a 2 year period. For each category there will be a separate male and female competition. The age categories are:Youth A: for those born in the years 1995 and 1996
Youth B: for those born in the years 1997 and 1998
Youth C: for those born in the years 1999 and 2000
Youth D: for those born in the years 2001 and 2002
Youth E: for those born in the years 2003 and 2004
